Text Shot: これまでのNTPサーバは、製品化されている専用機でも内部はPCによるソフトウェア処理で対応しており、その処理能力は毎秒5000リクエスト程度が限界とされていました。しかし、本NTPサーバをハードウェア化することによって、処理能力は一気に3けた向上し、世界最高性能となる毎秒100万リクエスト以上*1の処理能力を実現しました。また、このサーバはNICT内に設置され、日本標準時に直結しているため、サーバの時刻精度は10ナノ（1億分の1）秒以内を達成しています。しかも、単機能のハードウェアという特徴から、セキュリティ的にも頑健となっています。
